NORTH EDUCATION DIVISION IMPRESSED WITH MALOKOTELA CDSS PROJECT

Students pose with teachers, EDM and Ulalo’s ED

Jennings Kayira, Northern Education Division Manager has expressed satisfaction with the development of Malokotela Community Secondary School in Mzimba North.

The school, which is currently operational with approximately 50 students in Form 1, was brought to fulfilment through the collaborative efforts of Ulalo, in partnership with Chancen durch Bildung, and with generous funding from BMZ Engagement Global.

During his inaugural visit to the school, Kaira, accompanied by Rosario Soko, Chief Quality Assurance Officer for the Northern Education Division, and led by Ulalo's Executive Director James Gondwe, commended the ongoing progress.

He emphasized that upon completion, the school will significantly enhance the quality of education in Malawi, aligning with the Malawi 2063 Agenda.

"We came here to monitor progress and gather information for planning purposes, and I am thoroughly impressed with the work underway," remarked Kayira. He further lauded Ulalo for rescuing students who previously had to endure an average of 22-kilometer trek to the nearest school, Enukweni CDSS, affirming Ulalo's role as a stalwart in educational development.

"Ulalo's commitment to education goes beyond words," Kayira continued. "By eliminating the need for students to walk long distances to school, they have proven to be genuine partners in our journey towards educational advancement."

The Malokotela project includes the construction of three classroom blocks, an administration block, a science lab block, five teacher's houses, girls' and boys' hostels, a kitchen and eating area, as well as water and lighting systems.

This holistic approach underscores a commitment to providing a conducive learning environment for all students.
