Reflecting and Renewing: The Power of Team Building at Our Salima Retreat

Our annual Review, Planning, and Retreat at the stunning Lakeside Hotel in Salima proved to be an exceptionally productive and energizing event! We dove deep into project reviews and planning, making for a busy yet exhilarating day.

This year's gathering is themed “Reflection and Renewal: Encouraging Togetherness,” emphasizing the crucial role of reflecting on past experiences, renewing our commitment to our mission, and fostering a strong sense of unity.

James Gondwe, our Executive Director, truly set the stage for the week with his inspirational address. Reflecting on our theme, James remarked, “Our greatest asset is our people.” This statement resonates deeply with the essence of our retreat. It underscores the fact that our collective strength and success are built on the foundation of our dedicated team.

The importance of team building cannot be overstated. It’s not merely about organizing fun activities or casual bonding sessions, although these are certainly valuable.

True team building integrates the core values of collaboration, communication, and mutual support into our daily work culture. By investing in our team, we create a more cohesive and motivated group that is better equipped to tackle challenges and seize opportunities.

As we embark on the second day of our retreat, our focus will shift to in-depth project discussions, detailed finance sessions, and, of course, engaging team-building activities.

These activities are not just a break from the routine but are designed to strengthen our connections, enhance our collaborative skills, and foster a spirit of unity that drives our mission forward.

Celebrating our achievements and reflecting on our progress are central to this week’s agenda. But equally important is our commitment to walking the talk of our mission. By embracing our theme of “Reflection and Renewal,” we are not just looking back and planning ahead; we are also reinforcing the values that make us stronger as a team.

Meanwhile the team is still having meaningful team-building experiences that will fuel the future successes slated to end on Friday.
