Our Executive joined the Solidarity March to celebrate Teachers

Supporting the noble profession and recognizing the vital role of teachers in fostering development, Ulalo, led by its founder and director James Gondwe, participated in the commemoration of World Teacher's Day in Mzuzu this Wednesday.

Under the theme "The Teacher We Need for Education We Want," the event commenced with an exciting parade, led by the Malawi police brass band, from Mzuzu Court House to Grand Palace Hotel.

The guest of honor, Minister of Education Madalitso Kambauwa Wirima, further hyped the parade upon her arrival. She led a class session with students from Chibavi Primary School, who ingeniously set up a classroom in a moving vehicle.

Reflecting on the event, Gondwe, expressed his satisfaction, emphasizing the impact of the minister's engagement is motivated teachers. "The minister's presence underscored the crucial role of teachers in our society. It was truly heartening to witness her active participation in these activities," he remarked.

Gondwe further emphasized Ulalo's commitment to promoting academic excellence in Malawi, stating, "Ulalo's participation in the parade signifies our unwavering dedication to fostering academic excellence in our nation."

The exceptional teachers from all 34 educational districts in the country were honored with various accolades during the commemoration event at Grand Palace.

While World Teachers' Day traditionally falls on October 5 every year, Malawi chose to celebrate it on October 18 this year.
