Living the dream of our vision of having a society where young people are socially responsible and productive members of society, Ulalo supported Mpoto Awards an event that promotes music and culture.

The event, which debuted last year, returned with an exciting performance of Praise Umali who was a headliner on Friday,17 November 2023 at Grand Palace Hotel in Mzuzu.

Mpoto Awards, formerly known as Mzuzu Music Awards, rewarded players in excellence in music, creative writing and poetry, visual arts and design, innovation and entrepreneurship and sports achievement.

Executive Director for Ulalo, James Gondwe Said the event aligns with Ulalo’s mission of having a society which young people are responsible and taking part in the change that the world’s needs.

“Talents are hidden gems that young people can use to influence change, we believe that supporting Mpoto Awards we are giving Young people have a chance to contribute to the society that they are living in,” Said Gondwe.

One of the members of the organizing team, Burnet Mulungu, hailed Ulalo for supporting the event saying “Mpoto Awards is a premier recognition platform in the Northern Region, celebrating excellence and achievement across diverse fields such as arts, entrepreneurship and community development and supporting it is a major contribution in shaping the young people.”
