As we bid farewell to Dr. Tanimomo Oluseun, we reflect on his incredible contributions during his six-month volunteer assignment at Ulalo. Dr. Olu, as he is affectionately known, joined us as the Communications, Monitoring, and Evaluation Advisor under our partnership with the World University Service of Canada (WUSC). His time with us has been marked by significant achievements and lasting impact.

Dr. Olu’s journey with Ulalo began on March 22, as part of the Volunteer Cooperation Program—a seven-year initiative designed to strengthen the performance of partner organizations like ours. From the outset, his expertise in communications and evaluation played a crucial role in refining our strategies and enhancing our monitoring and evaluation systems.

Our Executive Director, James Gondwe has lauded Dr. Olu as a creative and professional individual whose contributions have proven invaluable.

“His work has not only sharpened our communications strategies but also reinforced Ulalo’s robust monitoring and evaluation framework. His dedication and innovative approach have set a high standard for future collaborations.” Said James Gondwe

Dr. Olu’s parting message reflects the profound connection he has developed with Ulalo

"When you have enjoyed the conviviality of your colleagues and when your 5-month-old place of residence has become a home, it is hard to pack your bag and leave, much like the character in Dambudzo Marechera's novel House of Hunger. Yes, I packed my bag, but I am not leaving. Something in my soul has become Malawian. There are several homes in my head, and Ulalo is one of them. During my time at Ulalo, I had a truly enriching experience. The cooperation and support from the staff were exceptional, making my stay both productive and enjoyable. I also had the opportunity to build meaningful friendships, which added a personal and rewarding dimension to my work. I leave with fond memories and a deep appreciation for the community I was fortunate to be a part of. Ulalo to the world!"

Dr. Olu’s presence has left an indelible mark on our organization, and his departure is met with both gratitude and a touch of sadness. His contributions have helped us grow, and the relationships he has built will endure long after his departure. As we move forward, we carry with us the lessons learned and the spirit of collaboration that Dr. Olu exemplified.

Thank you, Dr. Tanimomo Oluseun, for your dedication, creativity, and the positive energy you brought to Ulalo. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors and hope that our paths cross again.

Ulalo will always be a part of you, and you will always be a part of Ulalo. Safe travels and best wishes for your journey ahead!
