TURNING DREAMS INTO REALITY: DAUD'S JOURNEY FROM VOLUNTEER TO PROFESSIONAL TEACHER

Daud, once a volunteer teacher, now pursuing his dream of becoming a professional educator

Daud Soft Nyasulu began his teaching career as a volunteer in 2018, driven by a dream to become a professional teacher. Despite his passion, he lacked the means to pursue formal training and faced numerous challenges in achieving his goal.

For years, Daud watched as opportunities for teacher training passed him by, leaving him uncertain about his future. However, a glimmer of hope emerged when Ulalo, through its Teacher Training Initiative, selected him to join 96 other passionate volunteer teachers on the path to becoming professionals.

"Without this intervention, I wouldn't have been able to realize my dream of becoming a teacher," Daud reflects.

Today, Daud is a student at Theodora van Rossum Teachers' Training College, where he is actively working towards his goal alongside other dedicated volunteer teachers.

"This opportunity has changed my life. I am now one step closer to fulfilling my dream, and I am determined to make the most of it." Said Daud.

These teachers, selected from the primary schools where they volunteered, are now on their way to becoming qualified educators, thanks to Ulalo's support and implementation efforts with funding provided by Chancen durch Bildung (CDB) -Germany.

This initiative is turning dreams into reality and empowering volunteers like Daud to achieve their full potential as educators.
